Latest Updates
DECEMBER 2025

Greetings from Cape Town! We are excited to share an update from the ground as we step into this new season of mission and ministry.
After many years serving at Bethel Church in Redding, California, we have officially relocated to South Africa as missionaries and church planters. We are here to establish an apostolic hub (church) while continuing to co-direct the non-profit organization we founded in 2011, Hope Africa Collective. Our hearts burn to see Cape Town catalyzed into its prophetic destiny as the Mother City of revival in Africa.
We’ve now been on the ground in Cape Town for just under two months, together with our three teenage boys and a team from Bethel. These first weeks have been full, rich, and incredibly encouraging.
So far, we have:
-
Settled in as a family (the boys are loving the surf and ocean life!).
-
Re-engaged on the ground as leaders of Hope Africa Collective, envisioning the expansion of our Bible school across the city.
-
Begun working with the poorest of the poor in the townships, partnering with key local organizations and lending our strength to what God is already doing. We’ve also been grateful to employ South Africans as part of this work.
-
Focused this season on getting the “lay of the land” before officially launching the ministry early next year. This has included visiting many local churches and connecting with pastors and leaders—it’s been deeply encouraging to see how the Lord is already moving in so many places.
-
Had the privilege of preaching in local churches.
As a team, we have:
-
Poured lovingly into the lives of students in our Hope Africa programs, seeing several give their lives to Christ and beginning the journey of discipleship with them.
-
Hosted powerful prayer and intercession nights for the city.
-
Loved on and provided food for locals in our area who are in need.
It has been beautiful to watch the team rise to the occasion. One team member has even stepped into a role as assistant volleyball coach in a deeply impoverished township—using sport as a bridge to reach local kids and families with love and hope.
Momentum is growing, and we are sensing the clear leading of the Lord as we step forward into this new work. We are profoundly grateful for each of our financial supporters. Truly, none of this would be possible without your generosity, prayer, and partnership. We have been overwhelmed by the ways God has provided for our family and made a way where there seemed to be no way.
Prayer Requests
-
Provision: Our home in Redding, California—currently listed as a holiday and mid-term rental—is not performing well, and we are struggling to make ends meet without that income. Please pray for increased Airbnb bookings and for tenants for our upstairs unit.
-
Protection & Safety: Cape Town is a beautiful but dangerous city, and we often minister in areas known for high crime. We are not afraid, but we deeply value prayer covering for continued protection and safety as we go.
-
Above all, Revival: Please pray for a fresh and powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit—in our personal lives, in our team, and across the city. Our desire is to do nothing in our own strength, but to move fully by His Spirit, saturated in His presence.
We are so thankful for each of you and your partnership in this journey. We pray you have a wonderful and joy-filled Christmas, and we would love to hear from you. Please reach out and let us know how we can be praying for you in this season.
With love and gratitude,
Bridget & family
